Getting Started with Customer Intelligence

A quick-start guide for Growth and Pro merchants to understand and act on customer segmentation, churn risk, and lifetime value.

Growth

What You Get

Customer Intelligence automatically analyses your sales data to give you actionable insights about every customer:

  • RFM Segmentation — Customers grouped into Champions, Loyal, At-Risk, One-Time, and Dormant based on how recently, how often, and how much they buy.
  • Churn Risk — A 0–100 score that flags customers who are overdue relative to their usual purchase cadence.
  • Lifetime Value (LTV) — Estimated total value of a customer based on their order history and patterns.
  • Loyalty Program — Points-based rewards to encourage repeat purchases.

Before You Start

Minimum data required

Segmentation begins automatically once you have at least 10 customers with orders. Segments are recomputed weekly, so new data takes up to 7 days to reflect in segments.

Your First Steps

  1. 1

    Review your segments

Navigate to Customers > Customer Analytics to see the segment distribution bar. This shows the proportion of your customers in each segment. Click any segment to filter your customer list.

  2. 2

    Check at-risk customers

On the same analytics page, scroll to the At-Risk Customers panel. These are customers who used to buy regularly but have gone quiet. Click a customer to open their profile and consider reaching out with a personal offer or message.

  3. 3

    Explore individual profiles

Open any customer and click the Intelligence tab. You will see their RFM score bars, segment badge, churn risk gauge, and lifetime value. Use this to decide how to engage with each customer individually.

  4. 4

    Set up a loyalty program

Go to Settings > Loyalty Program to configure earning rates, minimum order amounts, and point validity. Once enabled, customers automatically earn points on qualifying orders. See the Loyalty Program guide for full setup instructions.

  5. 5

    Ask Eleo AI

Use natural language to query customer data. Try prompts like:

    • “Who are my champion customers?”
    • “Show at-risk customers who spent over 50k”
    • “What is Bola's lifetime value?”

See Eleo AI Customer Queries for more examples.

Where to focus first

Start with your At-Risk and Champions segments — these have the highest ROI for action. Re-engage at-risk customers before they churn, and reward champions to keep them loyal.
