Setting Up Your Organization

After creating your account, Eleo guides you through setting up your first store, choosing your business type, and selecting the modules you need. Your organisation is created automatically as part of this process.

How it works

In Eleo Suite, an organisation is the top-level entity that represents your business. Everything lives under your organisation: stores, team members, products, orders, and financial data. If you operate multiple stores or locations, they all belong to the same organisation, giving you a unified view of your entire operation.

When you create your first store, Eleo automatically creates an organisation for you using your store name. You do not need to set up the organisation separately — it happens behind the scenes so you can focus on getting your store ready.

Onboarding flow

After creating your account and signing in for the first time, Eleo takes you through a guided onboarding process. This consists of two phases: a questionnaire to understand your business, followed by a setup wizard to get your store operational.

Phase 1: Business questionnaire

Immediately after creating your first store, Eleo presents a short questionnaire to tailor your experience. This takes about a minute to complete and helps Eleo recommend the right modules and plan for your business.

  1. 1

    Choose your business type

Select the type of business that best describes yours. Options include Restaurant, Retail, Wholesale, and others. Eleo uses your selection to pre-configure recommended modules and settings so you get the most relevant experience from the start.

Choose the business type that best matches your operation.
  2. 2

    Describe your business

Provide a few details about your operation to help Eleo fine-tune its recommendations:

    • Team size — How many people work in your business.
    • Number of locations — Whether you have one store or multiple branches.
    • Production — Whether you produce or manufacture goods.
    • Online sales — Whether you sell online or plan to.
Tell Eleo about your team size, locations, and whether you produce goods or sell online.
  3. 3

    Select your modules

Based on your business type and profile, Eleo recommends a set of modules. Modules are grouped into three tiers:

    • Core — Essential modules pre-selected for your business type (e.g., Inventory, Orders, Sales). These are always included.
    • Suggested — Recommended modules based on your profile (e.g., Production Tracking for manufacturers, Online Storefront for businesses that sell online). Toggle these on or off.
    • Other — All remaining modules available in Eleo. Browse and enable any that are relevant to your needs.

You can always enable or disable modules later from your store settings, so do not worry about getting this perfect on day one.

Core modules are pre-selected. Toggle suggested modules on or off, and browse others.
  4. 4

    Review your recommended plan

Based on your selections, Eleo recommends a pricing plan that fits your business needs. You can review the plan details, compare options, or skip this step to explore on the free tier first.

Eleo recommends a plan based on your team size, modules, and number of locations.
You can skip the questionnaire

If you prefer to explore Eleo on your own, you can skip the questionnaire entirely. You will land on your dashboard with default settings and can configure everything manually later.

Phase 2: Setup wizard

After the questionnaire, you land on your store dashboard where a setup wizard walks you through the essential tasks to make your store operational. The wizard appears as a modal overlay and guides you through each step.

  1. 1

    Add your store logo

Upload a logo for your store. This appears on receipts, your online storefront, and throughout the Eleo interface. This step is optional — you can skip it and add a logo later.

  2. 2

    Set up fulfillment

Choose how your store handles order fulfillment. Select your delivery modes (e.g., pickup, delivery, dine-in) so Eleo can configure the right workflows for your orders.

  3. 3

    Add payment methods

Configure the payment methods your store accepts (e.g., cash, card, bank transfer, mobile money). This ensures your team can process sales immediately.

  4. 4

    Create your first product

Add your first product to the catalog using a simplified form. Enter the product name, price, and optionally a photo. You can add more products and configure advanced options (variants, bundles, barcodes) later.

  5. 5

    Invite your team

If you have staff who will use Eleo Suite, invite them by entering their email address and selecting a role. They will receive an invitation to join your organisation. This step is optional — you can invite team members at any time from the Team section.

The wizard automatically skips steps you have already completed. For example, if you already added a product before opening the wizard, that step will be marked as done. Required steps (fulfillment, payment methods, first product) cannot be skipped, while optional steps (logo, team invites) can be.

The setup wizard guides you through essential configuration steps to get your store operational.

Adding more stores

If your business has multiple locations, you can add additional stores after completing the initial setup. Navigate to Organisation → Managing Stores in the sidebar to add new stores. Each new store goes through the same questionnaire and wizard process.

Multi-store support requires the Growth plan

The Free and Starter plans support a single store. To manage multiple store locations under one organisation, upgrade to the Growth plan or above. Each store maintains its own inventory, team assignments, and settings while sharing the organisation-level product catalog.

What happens next?

Once your store is set up, you are ready to start using Eleo. Here are some recommended next steps:

  1. Explore your dashboard to see the layout and available quick actions.
  2. Add more products to build out your catalog.
  3. Configure your storefront if you want to accept online orders.
  4. Review your reports section to understand what data Eleo tracks for you.
