Payroll
Pay your staff each period: salaries with history, an approved pay run, payment from the wallet or recorded elsewhere, and what is still owed.
What is Payroll?
Payroll turns each team member’s salary into a pay run for a period, has someone approve it, and pays it — from your Eleo wallet, or by recording a payment you made another way. It keeps a running balance of what each person is still owed, so you no longer need a spreadsheet beside it.
Salaries
Each team member’s pay is set on their Compensation tab: a gross and a net amount, how often they are paid, and the date it takes effect. A raise is a new salary from a date, so earlier periods keep the amount that applied then. Someone who joins or leaves part-way through a period is paid for the days they worked.
Net pay is the amount you enter. Eleo does not yet work out tax, pension or other deductions for you.
Pay runs
A run covers one period of your schedule (monthly, twice a month, every two weeks or weekly) and lists everyone at their salary for it. You can add or remove people while it is a draft, then submit it. An approver checks it and approves it, or sends it back with what needs fixing. An off-cycle run pays a bonus or a leaver’s final pay beside the regular one.
Paying staff
- Pay from wallet — pay everyone, the people you select, or one person, in full or in part. You confirm with your payment PIN. Available where wallet payouts are offered.
- Record a payment made elsewhere — cash, a bank app or another payroll system. Say how and when it was paid; nothing moves from your wallet.
A run shows Partially paid until the last person is paid. Each person’s line has a printable payslip.
What is still owed
Payroll → Outstanding salaries shows every person by month: what they were owed, what was paid and the balance carried forward. A team member’s profile shows the same balance for them.
Who can do what
By default managers prepare and pay runs, and owners approve them. The person who prepares a run cannot approve it while someone else in the store can. Owners can give a custom role any part of this. See Running Payroll for the full table.
Who can see pay
Seeing a payroll run and seeing what people are paid are separate permissions. A role that can open runs but not see amounts sees who is on each run and its status, with every amount hidden, and cannot pay or download. Downloading a payroll or salary file asks for your payment PIN, and the file names who downloaded it and when. Owners can see who opened payroll, salaries and payslips under Payroll → Payroll access; that record is kept for 12 months.
