Adding a Product

Learn how to create a new product in your inventory with all the essential details.

Every item you sell starts as a product in your inventory. This guide walks you through creating a product from scratch, including setting its name, description, SKU, pricing, and uploading photos. Once saved, the product becomes available across the rest of Eleo Suite — in your POS, online storefront, orders, and reports.

Step-by-step

   Navigate to Inventory → Products

   Open the sidebar and click Inventory, then select Products. You will see a list of all existing products. If this is your first time, the list will be empty.

   Click “Add Product”

   In the top-right corner of the Products page, click the Add Product button. This opens the new product form.

   Fill in product details

   Enter the core information for your product:

   • Product Name — A clear, customer-facing name (e.g. “Jollof Rice Spice Mix 250g”).
   • Description — An optional longer description that appears on your storefront and receipts.
   • SKU — A unique stock-keeping unit code. You can type your own or leave it blank to have one generated automatically.
   • Brand — Select an existing brand or create a new one inline.
   • Category — Assign the product to one or more categories for easier filtering.

   Set pricing

   In the Pricing section, enter the Selling Price — this is the amount your customers pay. Optionally, enter the Cost Price so that Eleo can calculate your profit margin automatically. The cost price is only visible to team members with the appropriate permission.

   Upload product photos

   Drag and drop images into the photo upload area, or click to browse your device. You can upload multiple photos — the first image becomes the primary photo shown in lists and on your storefront. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and WebP.

   Save the product

   Once you are happy with the details, click Save. The product is now live in your inventory. You can return to edit it at any time from the Products list.
