Stock History

Review a complete audit trail of every stock movement across your inventory.

Stock History gives you full visibility into how and why your stock levels have changed over time. Every movement — whether from a sale, a manual adjustment, a purchase order receipt, or a return — is logged with the date, quantity, reason, and the team member who performed the action. This audit trail is essential for accountability, dispute resolution, and accurate reporting.

Viewing stock history

Navigate to Catalog → Stock → Stock History to see a chronological list of all stock movements. Each entry shows:

  • Date & time — When the movement occurred.
  • Product — The product (and variant, if applicable) affected.
  • Change — The quantity added or removed, displayed with a positive or negative sign.
  • Reason — The category of movement (e.g. Sale, Purchase, Damage, Correction).
  • Performed by — The team member who initiated the movement.
  • Notes — Any additional context added at the time of adjustment.

Filtering and searching

The stock history list supports several filters to help you find the exact movements you are looking for:

  • Product — Search by product name or SKU to see all movements for a specific item.
  • Reason — Filter by movement type such as Sale, Purchase, Damage, Return, Transfer, or Correction.
  • Date range — Set a start and end date to narrow results to a specific time period. This is especially useful during stock-takes or audits.
  • Team member — Filter by the person who made the adjustment to investigate specific activity.

Understanding stock movement types

Eleo categorises stock movements into the following types:

  • Sale — Stock reduced automatically when an order is completed.
  • Purchase — Stock increased when goods are received from a supplier via a purchase order.
  • Return — Stock added back when a customer return is processed.
  • Damage — Stock reduced to account for items that are no longer sellable.
  • Transfer — Stock moved between locations (shown as a decrease at the origin and an increase at the destination).
  • Correction — Manual adjustments made after a physical count or stock-take to align system quantities with reality.

Exporting stock history

To export your stock history for external analysis or record keeping, apply the desired filters and then click the Export button in the top-right corner. You can download the data as a CSV file that includes all visible columns. The export respects whatever filters you have applied, so you can create focused reports for specific products, date ranges, or adjustment reasons.

Regular audits

We recommend reviewing your stock history at least monthly to catch discrepancies early. Use the date range filter to compare system quantities against physical counts, and create “Correction” adjustments for any differences found.
