Production Analytics
Analyse production performance with dashboards, KPIs, and trend reports.
Production Analytics provides a centralised dashboard where you can monitor the performance of your production operations. Track key metrics, identify trends, and spot issues before they affect your output or profitability. Instead of guessing why last month felt more expensive, you can see exactly where the money went.
Key metrics
The analytics dashboard tracks the following production KPIs:
- Throughput — The total quantity of finished goods produced over a given period. A bakery can see it made 1,200 loaves this week versus 1,050 last week.
- Yield Rate — The percentage of input materials that becomes finished product. If your jollof rice yield drops from 92% to 80%, something is off — maybe the rice is burning or a new cook is using too much water.
- Cost per Unit — The average production cost for each unit of finished product, broken down by materials, labour, and overheads. Know exactly whether your ₦500 meat pie costs ₦280 or ₦350 to produce.
- Wastage Rate — The percentage of materials lost during production, categorised by waste reason. If “spoilage” is your top category, you might need better cold storage before production.
- Work Order Completion Rate — The proportion of work orders completed on time versus those delayed or cancelled.
- Schedule Adherence — How closely actual production follows the planned schedule. If Friday bakes keep slipping to Saturday, it might be time to start prep on Thursday.
Using the dashboard
Navigate to Production → Analytics to access the dashboard. You can:
- Filter by date range — View metrics for a specific period (today, this week, this month, or a custom range).
- Filter by product — Drill down into the performance of a specific product or product category.
- Compare periods — View current metrics alongside a previous period to identify improvements or regressions.
- View trend charts — Visualise how key metrics change over time with line charts, bar graphs, and sparklines.
If you are just getting started with production analytics, focus on yield rate and wastage rate. These two metrics often reveal the biggest opportunities for cost savings. One restaurant discovered that simply switching from manual dicing to a food processor cut their vegetable waste by 12%.
Production reports
In addition to the real-time dashboard, Eleo offers production reports that you can generate and export:
- Production Summary — A high-level overview of total output, total cost, and waste for a period.
- Work Order Report — A detailed list of all work orders with their status, quantities, costs, and completion dates.
- Wastage Report — Waste quantities and costs grouped by reason, product, or time period.
- Cost Analysis — Expected versus actual production costs with variance highlighting.
